Over the CNY holiday break, we decided to pay a visit to Pasir Ris Swimming complex on the Monday where we had off in lieu from school. We had seen the swimming pool from afar before , but did not find the opportunity to try it out.
Better late than never !

Pasir Ris Swimming Pool |
Pasir Ris Swimming Complex was opened in July 2011. It is touted as a family swimming complex with facilities catering to toddlers and kids of all ages. Given its pedigree, we were quite eager to explore this complex.
It was 9 in the morning and surprisingly the pool was relatively quiet for a holiday. That only mean one thing ... We can go wild , wet and wacky!

Let's get wet! |
Naturally we are drawn to the water playground first. The water playground is meant for kids under 6, so it meant that is is perfect for us. No points for guessing what we tried first.
|
Slides @ Pasir Ris |
There are a total of 3 slides at the water playground. There is a covered slide and 2 open slide. In addition, there is a water bucket too. Think POLW but at a toddler scale.
|
Water Spurs |
We were quite fascinated with the waters spurting from the pool. The pool being only 0.3 meters deep is perfect for us to play on or even take a little swim. There are (fierce) lifeguards around to keep a watchful eye on us. However we do think parents should play their part too especially if the child is still young.
For adults who want to relax here is a jacuzzi right next to the water playground.
|
Jacuzzi |
Pasir Ris Swimming complex also comes with 2 larger slides for those 1.2 meters and above. There is also a wading pool about 1.05 m deep that is perfect for children above 6 who are starting to swim. Being a public pool, there is also a competitive 50 meters pool for swimmers.
|
Pasir Ris Swimming Pool |
We think Pasir Ris swimming pool rocks. Compared to traditional pools, it provides more facilities aim at children. In addition , adults can have their fun too while the children play. This is one of the 5 integrated public pools that caters to both the young and old. The rest are
- Choa Chu Kang Swimming Complex
- Jurong East Swimming Complex
- Jurong West Swimming Complex
- Sengkang Swimming Complex
After this trip we do intend to explore the others on the list.

Tap & Splash |
For a grand total of $4.60 for 2 adults ($1.50 each) and 2 kids ( $0.8 each) on a weekday , this is one of the best ways to introduce young children to Water playground. At a fraction of the cost of a visit to a commercial water playground such as POLW or Adventure Cove park, this option will be top of our list when it comes to a random day out.
Good facilities, splashing fun and super low entrance fee.
Who says you can't have it all ?
Since the March school holidays is just round, the corner, let's play at your nearest swimming pool! With the latest heat wave that has been microwaving Singapore, a trip to the swimming pool will be a wet and welcoming relieve.
