District 10 @ Star Vista - Brunch for the family
District 10 @ Star Vista |
It was a lazy Sunday morning when we visited District 10 after we accepted an invite. Given our hectic schedules between weekend enrichment classes and events, we hardly had the option of Brunch in the family. Given that it is the holidays, we have accepted an invitation to check out District 10 @ Star Vista.
District 10 @ Star Vista belongs to the Bonta group of restaurants. It has three restaurants bearing the same name, serving modern European cuisine. District 10@ Star Vista is a new branch famous for having over 35 tapas and pinches. This 80-seater can be distinguished by its signature brick wall and wooden furnishings.
Brunch Menu |
The brunch menu was simple, with 6 main courses and 4 sides dish.
We sampled the Spanish Omelette, District 10 Benedict and the Pandan Coconut cake for this visit.
Spanish Omelette |
The Spanish omelette ($14++) is a simple dish comprising an omelette, hash brown and greens. The omelette itself is prepared with mushrooms, chorizo and bell peppers.
District 10 Eggs Benedict |
Next on the plate was the District 10 Eggs Benedict ($16) served on a toasted muffin with sautéed sip acne, smoke salmon and hollandaise sauce. This is probably the wife's favourite dish with sides of hash brown, greens and tomato.
The final dish we tasted on the brunch menu would be the Pandan coconut pancake($9). The Pandan Coconut Pancake is best eaten with the gula Melaka syrup provided.
Overall the food presented is leaning towards breakfast rather than lunch. Other items on the menu include Fried eggs, French toast and creamy scrambled eggs. If you are looking for a full meal, you may need more than one serving.
Given their exotic taste, the above dishes may be something other than a kid's favourite.
Kids |
Luckily for kids, they have a separate menu to try. We had the Margarita pizza, which the children readily savoured.
Margarita Pizza |
The Margarita Pizza is served in a thin crisp crust. The toppings are not overwhelming, and the tomato base pizza would be a hit with the children.
That is, if you can pull them away from the bouncy castle at one corner.
Bouncing Castle |
The bouncy castle was the main reason the children decided to tag along for the meal. For families with younger kids, if you are looking for a little respite during a dinner, going to places with activities for kids will always be a boon.
After their workout, the boys are ready to tuck in.
Overall the brunch menu could be improved. Browsing through their website, their standard dishes would make a better choice for diners. However, they do score bonus points with parents with the bouncy castle.
If you are around Star Vista and looking for a place to let your child bounce and play while you enjoy a meal, District 10 is the place to go.
Thanks, District 10! |
